Counselling is sometimes referred to as the 'talking cure'. I have often thought that there is something almost miraculous about it. Just by you talking, and me, a professional, listening and reflecting back to you what is happening inside of you brings truly enormous relief. In short, it is a process that helps you to become aware of hidden forces that are affecting you, and when you become aware of these problems, I mean truly aware of them, and where they come from, then they begin to lose their power.
